These matches are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month (with exceptions, check Impact Scoring). They are a PRS-style format. Competitors shoot to distances ranging from 200 to 1300 yards from various props under time pressure.
You should have a rifle with detachable magazines capable of 1 MOA accuracy or better, a scope with 10x maganification or higher, a bipod, and at least 85 rounds of ammunition.
Additionally, Desert Sportsman’s Rifle & Pistol Club requires the use of eye and ear protection at all times, as well as Empty Chamber Indicators (chamber flags) when not shooting.
A zero board is available for a period of time before the safety brief to re-check zero, but ideally you should show up with your rifle zeroed and have accurate data on a ballistic computer for your rifle / ammo.
Optional but recommended equipment includes a tripod with binoculars, a support bag such as a Gamechanger, and a weather meter. If you don’t have these items, experienced competitors are often happy to lend gear to newer shooters.
These matches are held on the 3rd Sunday of every month (with exceptions, check Impact Scoring). They are based on the Western Gas Gun Coalition ‘time plus’ format. Competitors shoot to distances ranging from 100 to 650 yards, occasionally stretching further. Unlike ‘Precision Rifle’, most stages at these matches are ‘hit to move on’, emphasizing speed. The competitor with the fastest overall time wins.
You should have a semi-automatic rifle capable of 2-3 MOA accuracy or better, 2 magazines, a bipod, and 160 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, DSRPC requires the use of eye and ear protection at all times, and “chamber flags” when not shooting.
